The Controlant Platform

The Controlant Platform: One platform for every shipment

The devices, the platform, and our 24/7 monitoring team come from one supplier, and every reading, alarm, and decision lands in one record.

  • 7 of the world's 10 largest pharma companies use Controlant
  • 5.73 million shipments monitored in 189 countries

Six ways Controlant supports your team

Every reading, every leg, one record. Here is what your people do with it.

Track every shipment

See where each shipment is and how it is doing, live and afterwards.

Saga devices report over the cellular network, and nothing is installed at a shipping or receiving site. All device data reaches the cloud in real time; a USB upload is available as a backup if it is ever needed.

What you get

You know without chasing anyone.

Get told when something goes wrong

You set the limits for each product and choose who hears about it, by email or text. Our 24/7 monitoring team can be one of them.

An excursion (time outside the safe temperature range) is flagged when the device reports, with where it happened.

What you get

Your team can step in while the product can still be saved.

Release without the manual check

A shipment that stayed within its limits, or within what the product can safely tolerate, is released automatically.

What you get

Your quality team looks only at the few shipments that need them, and your product reaches the market sooner.

Have the record ready for an audit

A report of the whole journey is emailed on arrival, and every change is logged: who, what, and when.

The Controlant Platform is validated to comply with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EU GMP Annex 11. We supply the validation documentation.

What you get

No one needs to assemble evidence by hand.

Share shipment data with partners

Send a view-only link that shows a logistics partner or receiving site the status, location, and condition.

The link expires after 7 to 120 days.

What you get

Everyone works from the same record, with nothing to install or learn.

Connect your own systems

Keep creating shipments in your ERP: it pushes them to the Controlant Platform, and the platform pushes events and alerts back to your systems the moment something changes.

What you get

Nobody types a shipment in twice.

Questions about the Controlant Platform

How does shipment data reach the platform?

Saga devices upload over the cellular network on their wake interval, straight to the Controlant cloud. Nothing is installed at a shipping or receiving site, and no reader or gateway is provisioned. All device data reaches the cloud in real time, with a USB upload available as a backup if it is ever needed. Data appears in the dashboard as it arrives, and can be pulled through the Integrations API or pushed into your own systems by webhook.

Does Controlant use LoRaWAN, gateways, or blockchain?

No, to all three. Saga devices report over the cellular network, on 4G, 3G, and 2G, roaming globally; Saga Card uses LTE-M and NB-IoT. There is no gateway, reader, or short-range network such as LoRaWAN to install at either end of a lane, and nothing is installed at a shipping or receiving site. The platform does not use blockchain: readings land in the Controlant cloud, and you read them in the dashboard, through the Integrations API, or by webhook into your own systems.

Does the platform only work with Controlant devices?

No. The platform is data-agnostic. Data from other IoT vendors, containers, carriers, storage monitoring systems, and RFID infrastructure is normalized into a single, consistent view, so the data model does not depend on whose hardware produced the reading.

What happens when an excursion occurs?

The excursion is detected the moment it happens and carries its geolocation, so the team can intervene while the product can still be saved rather than review the record weeks later. The excursion notification, the temperature record, and the audit trail together document what happened to that shipment.

Is the platform validated?

GxP compliance belongs to you as the regulated company; what a supplier provides is a validated system that supports it. The Controlant platform is validated to comply with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EU GMP Annex 11, and we supply the validation documentation your qualification process needs.
